Music and Choir
It is incontestable that music induces in us a sense of the infinite and the contemplation of the invisible.
~Victor de LaPrade
Music is a treasured part of our spiritual community, enriching our worship services as well as our social activities. The UUFWS choir, under the direction of our music director, Mignon Dobbins, sings at two Sunday morning services a month, accompanied by pianist Trish Williams. The congregation is led weekly in selections from Singing the Living Tradition and Singing the Journey, songbooks published by the Unitarian Universalist Association.
Several times a year, all-music services allow those in attendance to search for spiritual connections through song rather than just the spoken word. All our services, including Soulful Sundown, offer the Fellowship’s many musicians the opportunity to share their talent with the rest of the congregation.
Choir Practice: The UUFWS choir rehearses at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Fellowship Hall. For more information on the choir, e-mail Mignon Dobbins at musicdirector@uufws.org.
