Come join us at Marguerite’s Coffee House, a free monthly event. October's featured artist is celebrated area soprano, Nikki Johnson. She will perform a selection of classical and musical theater songs following the theme of Love and Heartbreak.
 
Performers of all kinds are invited to contribute additional performances. Contact coffeehouse@uufws.org for scheduling if you have a talent you would like to share. A light dinner is provided (you are welcome to bring appetizers, beverages, and dessert items).

Hurricane Florence Volunteer Opportunity

Cape Fear Habitat is scheduling volunteer opportunities for Hurricane Florence work over the next few weeks. The work will involve cleanup of flooded homes in Rocky Point/Burgaw area of Pender County, about three and a half hours from here. Out of town volunteers will be housed in Riley's Creek Baptist Church. Gus Preschle, a lead Volunteer for Habitat Forsyth is planning to help there next week from Wednesday, October 24 through Saturday, October 27 OR from Wednesday October 31 through Friday, November 2. Share the Plate - October - Imprints Cares

Imprints Cares is an early childhood education nonprofit, helping to break the cycle of poverty by giving children the early start they need in life. Imprints Cares provides families with the tools they need to raise children who are safe, healthy, and ready to learn. It also offers unique before and after school programs, summer enrichment, and tutoring services, which rely primarily on teachers who provide expanded learning in local schools to children in those schools.
