The Fellowship is looking for someone who is excited about working with our bright young people as they shape their progressive faith journeys and engage in social action. The position is quarter time (ten hours per week), with weekend hours required. It includes co-leading a weekly Sunday session of the youth group, and periodically going with the youth and chaperones on field trips and overnights. Fellowship policy prohibits members from becoming staff, but we hope our members will help us recruit the right person for the job. The ideal candidate has both experience and enthusiasm, an understanding of group dynamics, good communication skills, impeccable professional boundaries and practice of right relations with youth and their families. During the summer months, you’re encouraged to collect a small amount of water from your travels—or a meaningful spot here at home—and bring it to our annual Water Service on Sunday, Aug. 24. The waters will be combined with a sample of waters from past ceremonies to represent our coming together after summer trips—and as a symbol of our shared beliefs coming from many different sources. Questions? Julie Palm, Keeper of the Water, will try to answer them.
Social Action Council (SAC) will meet in the Library on Sunday, July 13th at 12:30 pm, after Sunday service. There will be no Monday night meeting of SAC in July.

Wait, Who Says UUs Are Arrogant? We say things like, "She's a UU; she just hasn't seen it yet," and "whatever they need to believe to get by," and "they just haven't figured out yet that there's no way to be sure." Where does that smugness come from? And are we as UUs particularly susceptible to some form of religious elitism?
